Book Review: Just Go With It by Madison Wright

[ID: A light blue book with an illustration of a red-haired woman reading a book and a blonde man holding a camera. The book sits on a gray wooden floor surrounded by white flowers, orange roses, and open books. A gold dragonfly necklace lays next to the book and a few wax seals sit on the open books.]

Thank you so much to @AuthorMadisonWright for sending this exciting new release my way! JUST GO WITH IT is the story of Lo, a chronically ill writer, and Weston, a viral Youtuber. Lo’s life is a hot mess. She lost her job, her home, and her health insurance all in one summer. When she reconnects with her college friend and former crush, people automatically assume they’re dating. ⁣

Weston is in desperate need of good press and proposes a marriage of convenience. Lo will get the insurance she needs and Weston will get new content for his career. But forced to be in close proximity stirs up feelings Lo hoped were long repressed. Should they just go with it?⁣

JUST GO WITH IT is an extremely readable and fun closed door romance featuring some of my most favorite tropes (and a P&P loving heroine!). Wright’s writing is sooo snappy and entertaining. I loved her way with words and didn’t want to put the book down.⁣

Unfortunately, Weston was not my ideal type. I found his pushiness annoying. And let’s just say if a guy pushed me into a pool (especially on a bad day) I might divorce him right there. I also wish Lo’s fibromyalgia was more integrated into the midsection of the book. Her illness is based on the author’s own personal experience and I really appreciated that representation. I just wanted to see more of Lo’s bad days and a fuller picture of her illness.⁣

I can’t wait for Wright’s next book and I will be adding this one to my favorites of 2022 shelf for sure!

P.S. The dragonfly necklace is by GenZAlternative on Etsy who is also disabled and I feel like it’s totally something Lo would wear. ⁣
